Your OSNT Skin is characterized by sensitivity. What does this mean?
OSNT Skin types are prone to inflammation. Inflammation has been associated with various long term health issues, therefore prevention and treatment is important.
What is “Inflammation”?
Skin inflammation is caused when inflammatory factors in the body stimulate the blood vessels to dilate. This leads to redness and flushing. To help explain inflammation, we use the example of INFLA-MAN.
INFLA-MAN™ creates havoc in the body by stimulating various pathways in the body, including the arachidonic acid pathway, cytokines and cells in the immune system. When the inflammatory pathways are turned on, various cells produce inflammatory factors, increase prostaglandin production, turn on genes that can lead to inflammation and cause blood vessels to dilate, leading to redness. Even if you don’t understand how INFLA-MAN causes inflammation, it is important for you to know that inflammation causes many problems that can lead to “sensitive skin.”
OSNT Skin Types May Develop One or More of the Following:
Acne is characterized by papules, pustules and comedones
Characterized by facial redness, flushing, broken blood vessels and a feeling of facial warmth that comes and goes.
Burning and stinging (neurosensory) – Stinging, itching, burning and related skin discomfort occur as a result of triggers affecting sensitive nerve endings.
Contact dermatitis (allergies and irritants) occurs when an irritate or an allergen causes a rash on the skin.
